I remember when this buzz word was all the rage but it seemed like no one REALLY did anything about it until their hands literally started going numb. Probably because the solutions were all a little too much of a pain in the a&%. You had to sit in a certain chair, have your screen positioned at a certain angle; you had to place a bulbous pad in front of your keyboard that seemed more uncomfortable than helpful, look away…don’t look away, stop slouching, 12°, 90°, 1,000° blah blah blah. At some point I stopped paying attention.
But I just found this handy new invention! And as it turns out, it can be branded which means it falls right into my promotional products yellow brick road. Check it:
AViiQ’s portable, lightweight, sturdy and BRANDABLE laptop stand. To get the full effect, you must watch the instructional video. Seriously. It’s a super cool way for your often traveling, laptop working, must have portability VIPs to keep your company brand and their hands working.
I’m sure you’ve seen them. But the important question is: are you using them to your advantage? QR Codes are bar codes that are embedded with your website address, contact information and/or other text. A potential customer or client simply scans the barcode using a barcode scanner app on their phone and VOILA, they are at your website or dialing your number in seconds. How cool is that? Now let’s take it up a notch. QR codes are of particular interest in marketing because it gives you the ability to measure response rates with a high degree of precision thereby allowing for easier ROI (return on investment) calculation, and thus helping justify spending on marketing budgets. Want to know if the marketing material you handed out at that last conference worked? This is how you do it!
Now let’s think application. Envision billboard ads, guerilla marketing campaigns, in-store displays, event ticketing and tracking, trade-show management, business cards, print ads, contests, direct mail campaigns, websites, email marketing, couponing and my favorite part….SWAG. Here is the part where I usually tell you to contact Swag Necessities for more info, but instead:

Floating liquid pens. Remember these? When I was about 7 years old, a shall-remain-nameless friend found one in her Dad's drawer. When the pen was held upright a scantily clad woman was provocatively posing but if you turned the pen over, her top fell down. Needless to say, hours were wasted. Mainly giggling.
Now imagine your logo, symbol or mascot floating around in the pen. Maybe not as captivating as breasts, but definitely more appropriate! Very cool, very retro, very effective. Contact SWAG for more info!
