Lanyards - Earth Day Part IV
In Austin, you can’t walk a block without running into a festival of some sort. And with festivals comes lanyards. And because Earth Day is rolling up on us, I started wondering what happens to all of those lanyards once the event-in-question is over. If you are in my house, there is a certain someone who refuses to throw them away and instead shoves them in a drawer where they sit untouched for 7 years which ends up driving another certain someone absolutely crazy. Ehem. But for most people, their lanyards unfortunately end up in a landfill. So to the people in charge: Why not be environmentally responsible and make sure the lanyards you use are either biodegradable or recycled. The price difference is minimal and in some cases nonexistent! And therefore I will say it again – the planet will thank you so how can you say no?

Earth Day...week...month - Part III
As the saying goes, Refill Not Landfill. Since it was brought to our attention that disposable water bottles are taking up a phenomenal amount of space in landfills (and a 1,000 years to biodegrade…eek!), there has been a big push to abandon the convenient thirst quenchers and op for something more environmentally friendly. Shortly thereafter the boring hard plastic water bottle was introduced. Ugh, but it turns out some of those suckers weren’t so good for you (hello BPA!). But alas, the dilemma has been solved. And in BPA-free plastic that is attractive to boot! Trust me, no one would dare throw one of these away. So I say seize the day and take advantage of a great opportunity to brand!!

Earth Day…week…month – Part I
Even though most of us do our best to be as environmentally conscious as possible year round, I thought I would point out that Earth Day is coming up this month! In observance of all things “green” I will posted various cool products that I’ve come across that fit in nicely with the reuse/recycle message but that also are a little outside of the typical green-product box! Case in point: paper clips. Yep that’s right, paper clips! These paper clips are made of biodegradable plastic yet they still get the job done. Plus they look great logoed. So why not?
